"My Tree & Wave" is part of the Body Scan Series 2018 – 2020. This piece features a "Wave" of my torso rising over a California Black Oak on a hillside in Contra Costa County. The tree is just starting to leaf out in Spring signaling new growth and hope.

It is a digital 20" X 24" piece printed on plexiglass and is the first of an edition of 5. There are also small, limited editions in other sizes available printed on glass or canvas.

Background: Upon embarking on a pitched battle with metastasized cancer in late 2018 my art underwent a huge change. No longer did I have the stamina to stand for hours painting nor could I sit upright or bend over a project as was necessary with my mixed media, encaustic work. The inspiration came when I started to see the radiologist’s creations via medical scans. MRI’s, X-rays, CT and PET scans all proved fascinating and full of potential. After each scan the technicians knew to make me a DVD so that I could bring it home and put it up on my computer screen. Photoshop and Procreate are two of the applications in which I work them with.

It has been an incredibly exciting journey into unknown territory.

Once finished the pieces are printed out on either glass, plexiglass or canvas.
